Warranty Information

Strayer Concrete Warranty and what to expect from your new concrete.

Strayer Concrete has an A+ rating with the BBB and is a favored business in Next Door.
We have been in business over 30 years – we have an experienced crew that has been with us for 10 years or more, we are a local company that is active and well known in the communities that we serve.

At Strayer Concrete we don’t include 3- or 5-year warranties because any problems with materials or workmanship will be evident in weeks not years.

The pouring and setting of concrete can be considered an art form, not an exact science, that comes with experience. Many natural factors come into play that could cause common issues with your finished concrete project. You need to know what could happen when your concrete is poured.

What is typical- Concrete is a mixture of cement, water and aggregate- so when the temperature drops, water freezes causing the concrete to heave. These cracks are not covered by warranty because a natural event causes them.
The preventative maintenance we provide is driveway sealant that takes the brunt of the elemental stress instead of being directly affected. After your newly poured concrete many natural factors can come into play. allow 45 days for the concrete to be set before assessing any damage that may occur and is covered by a warranty.
Cracks- all concrete will crack at some point- and while it is annoying it is normal. Therefore, we do not guarantee that concrete won’t crack but steps are taken to prevent cracks.

The industry standard that Strayer Concrete follows for repairing or replacing cracked concrete is greater than the width of a quarter.

Flaking and Popping – Harsh weather conditions such as extreme cold (using salt) or heat can cause the surface of concrete to flack or pop off. While this may expose aggregate close to the surface it will not compromise the integrity of the slab. We do not guarantee damage caused by the weather because we cannot control the weather conditions. The industry standard for replacement of flaking or popping is a minimum of 20% of the total work affected.

Discoloration – Color matching concrete is an inexact science and colored concrete patios are the same. While we make every effort to give you the color you want and have picked out there are many chemical reactions that can alter the color. The color of concrete changes as it cures which can take weeks. Therefore, we do not warranty concrete not slightly matching or discoloration over months or years.

Shifting and settling- a driveway, sidewalk, porch, patio, garage, patio or barn floor can occur over time due to underground root growth or shrinkage of the subsurface layers. This is also normal and not covered under warranty.

Strayer Concrete does not do concrete repairs for other concrete companies that do not meet your expectations. We will advise removing concrete and replacing it with new.
It is always our goal to give each customer beautiful new concrete – whether driveway or patio and believe that your investment in your home should meet all your expectations.
